This is achieved through a combination of Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus, [omnichain](https://medium.com/@orderlynetwork/what-is-omnichain-in-crypto-a-beginners-guide-4d81c89afb11) smart contracts, and a sophisticated observer and signer system. These components work in tandem to facilitate secure and efficient transactions across multiple blockchains, paving the way for truly decentralized applications that can operate across the blockchain spectrum.

Anyone can operate a node on the network provided that enough bond is staked to the protocol — which is built on Tendermint consensus. Those operating as validators act as observers that come to a shared agreement on external states and events that occur on other chains, to facilitate accurate cross-chain communications.

The vision of ZetaChain is clear: to create a blockchain ecosystem that is as interconnected and accessible as the internet today. This is represented by its ambitious roadmap packed with A-List chain integrations such as [Solana](https://solana.com/), [Filecoin](https://filecoin.io/), Bitcoin ordinals/[BRC-20](https://chain.link/education-hub/brc-20-token), [Cosmos](https://cosmos.network/) ecosystem via Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC), and eventually other Layer 2 solutions.
