Get inspired by the talent and passion that drives Validation Cloud forward. Meet Pavel Rybintsev, our skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer based in Vancouver, Canada.

Q: What’s your role at Validation Cloud? Tell me about your background and experience prior to joining the team.

A: I am a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Validation Cloud, having been with the company for over a year. During my time here, I've had the opportunity to contribute to many of our products, with my most recent focus being on developing the backend of our staking offering. I have been coding for the last eighteen years, with a recent shift towards blockchain technology. Before joining Validation Cloud, I worked across a variety of fields, from computer vision to algo trading, for both small startups and large enterprises.

Q: What motivated you to join the Validation Cloud team, and in what ways do you envision your role supporting the company's mission?

A: Web3 is a relatively young field, brimming with new ideas and trends, making it unclear which will prevail in the future. This uncertainty underscores the necessity for a platform capable of providing dependable access and connectivity to the diverse Web3 components within this constantly evolving landscape. Validation Cloud is uniquely positioned to offer such a platform to our customers, creating a foundation upon which the future of Web3 can be built.

Q: How did your interest in Web3 technology develop, and how do you believe Web3's potential impact can be leveraged by Validation Cloud to empower organizations to tap into its potential?

A: I have kept blockchain technology on my radar for a long time. As a programmer, I was always concerned about the impact of technology on people’s lives. Like any other powerful tool, it can be used for good but also cause great harm, depending on what you decide to build with it. Unfortunately, in recent decades we have seen many tech products, while improving our lives in certain ways, are also undermining our privacy and security and putting our data and finances at the mercy of big centralized players. Web3 for me is a rare example of a technology that puts the users in charge instead of taking the power away from them. We have already seen it work brilliantly in the finance world and it has even larger potential to affect other fields.

When I realized the positive impact Web3 can create, I started to look at how I can fit into and become a part of this world. Being an experienced software engineer, I had the privilege to narrow my focus to a specific field. By providing a platform for interacting with Web3 components, Validation Cloud brings ease of use and stability to the Web3 world, thus advancing the development of the whole field.

Q: What unique features or advantages does Validation Cloud offer compared to other Web3 infrastructure companies?

A: Validation Cloud distinguishes itself from other Web3 infrastructure companies through several unique features and advantages. Our Node API product delivers exceptional performance and availability. In our staking offering, we've implemented a unique on-chain billing system through a set of audited smart contracts, enhancing the security and transparency of the process. Security is a paramount concern for us; we adhere to industry best practices to ensure our customers' private information remains secure and protected.

Q: Which team values resonate with you the most, and why?

A: All of the team values resonate with me in one way or another, but if I had to choose one, it would be Solutions Orientation. Ultimately, our goal is to build products that address unique problems—problems that haven't yet been solved. The ability to identify and solve the right problems in the correct manner is crucial to our success as a company.

Q: What strategies will you implement to encourage effective collaboration with your team members in order to deliver high-performance and customizable products in staking, node operations, and data-as-a-service?

A: Being part of a remote team means we cannot always communicate face-to-face with our teammates. Therefore, choosing the right medium for communication is critical. For discussions that benefit from real-time interaction, I make it a point to be available for live calls, offering support and initiating conversations when necessary. For complex topics that are difficult to explain verbally, as if we were using a whiteboard, I focus on creating documentation with interactive tools. These tools allow us to dissect complicated issues while keeping the entire context in view, ensuring that we can collaborate effectively on developing high-performance, customizable products.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies or interests outside of Web3?

A: Being a father of two daughters, as enjoyable as it is, doesn't leave much room for hobbies. However, I still manage to find time for the things I enjoy most. I love snowboarding; and living in Vancouver, Canada, I am fortunate to be within driving distance of some excellent slopes. History is another passion of mine, and I listen to a lot of history podcasts, with Dan Carlin's Hardcore History being my favorite due to its engaging content. Video games have also been a significant part of my life. I have a particular fondness for grand strategy and 4X games, especially those developed by Paradox Development Studio.
