Get inspired by the talent and passion that drives Validation Cloud forward. Meet Guillaume Lethuillier, our skilled Senior Software Engineer based in Paris, France.

Q: What’s your role at Validation Cloud? Tell me about your background and experience prior to joining the team.

A: I am thrilled to join Validation Cloud as a Senior Software Engineer, where my initial focus will be on our staking solution. With over six years of experience in this industry, I have had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most passionate and talented individuals from key companies such as ConsenSys, Ledger, and Blockdaemon.

Throughout my career, I have developed a versatile skill set that enables me to design, implement, and deploy scalable distributed applications, leveraging advanced cryptographic techniques (secure multi-party computation, zero-knowledge proofs); implement and deploy smart contracts; and drive innovation.

I am thrilled to leverage my expertise to contribute to our company’s growth and success while continuing to push the boundaries of innovation. I bring technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of delivering scalable solutions that meet complex business needs.

Q: What motivated you to join the Validation Cloud team, and in what ways do you envision your role supporting the company's mission?

A: Generally speaking, I am excited about the potential of decentralized technologies to drive innovation and disruption across various industries. The convergence of cryptography and decentralized systems is particularly fascinating, and I am passionate about being part of this movement. I am interested in the company’s approach to harnessing its infrastructure as a platform for delivering innovative services and solutions that can make a meaningful impact.

I plan to leverage my expertise to provide strategic technical guidance on architecture and implementation levels, ensuring that our solutions are scalable and secure and align with the company’s mission and values.

Q: How did your interest in Web3 technology develop? How do you believe Validation Cloud can leverage Web3's impact to empower organizations?

A: My fascination with distributed systems laid the foundation for my interest in Web3 as I sought to understand the intersection of technical reliability and economic incentives that enable secure networks.

I firmly believe that our company is well-positioned to unlock the full potential of decentralized technologies by continuing to develop innovative solutions on top of our infrastructure. By doing so, we can empower organizations to harness the benefits of decentralization, such as increased security, transparency, and scalability. Furthermore, I would love for the company to explore recent developments, such as integrating artificial intelligence with decentralized systems—specifically using economic incentives in decentralized AI training—that could promote a more inclusive innovation ecosystem.

Q: Which team values resonate with you the most, and why?

A: While all our team values are essential to our collective success, I am particularly drawn to solutions orientation. It is a core value that resonates deeply with me. In the rapidly evolving Web3 landscape, it is crucial that we stay adaptable and responsive to our customers’ needs and technological changes.

This approach drives us to deliver exceptional results and fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement. By embracing solution orientation, I believe we can unlock new possibilities, push the boundaries of what is possible in Web3, and ultimately provide our customers with unparalleled value.

Q: What strategies will you implement to encourage effective collaboration with your team members in order to deliver high-performance and customizable products in staking, node operations, and data-as-a-service?

A: I plan to prioritize domain knowledge and expertise to foster seamless collaboration and drive success in our products and services. This involves ensuring that we have a deep understanding of the technologies we are working with, as well as our customers' needs and pain points. By fostering this level of technical insight, we will be better equipped to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique demands of each stakeholder.

Additionally, I firmly believe in the value of internal documentation as a critical enabler of effective collaboration. In a remote-first environment like ours, clear and comprehensive documentation helps to reduce ambiguity and miscommunication around technical and product-related decisions. We can maintain a shared understanding of our systems and solutions by documenting processes, technical choices, and design considerations.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies or interests outside of Web3?

A: I enjoy spending time with my child, attending museums and libraries (we are big fans of Le Louvre and the American Library in Paris), and learning to play chess together. We are also learning modern Greek, as we frequently spend time in Greece.

I also enjoy tackling challenging puzzles and problems requiring programming skills (I usually try to solve the current Jane Street puzzle of the month). I also like researching the history and culture behind historical cryptographic methods. I find it fascinating to learn about the techniques used by cryptanalysts before the advent of computers to decipher ancient codes.
