Validation Cloud Joins Forces with Obol and EtherFi to Decentralize Liquid Restaking
Validation Cloud is proud to be one of seven node operators helping EtherFi, a leading restaking protocol, deploy $100 million worth of stake on Obol, a leading Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) network, as part of a multi-organization cluster running Obol Distributed Validators (DVs).
EtherFi’s $100 million worth of stake, equating to 1000 validators, aims to enhance the security and resiliency of the Ethereum staking ecosystem and support the development of a decentralized liquid restaking protocol. Every operator in the cluster brings extensive experience in handling Obol DVs. This partnership between Obol DVs and EtherFi ensures that validators are managed by organizations skilled in the intricacies and requirements of DVT and restaking infrastructure.
⛰️ We have achieved another milestone in our journey to decentralise liquid restaking protocols!

What is Obol? An Overview
Obol Network is one of the leading DVT solutions currently building on Ethereum. DVT operates as a protocol layer on top of a network, such as Ethereum, to facilitate collaboration among validators.
Obol launched the first-ever Mainnet Distributed Validator in December 2022. Validation Cloud has been an Obol Mainnet Distributed Validator since September 2023.
The Importance of Restaking and Obol DVs
EtherFi’s $100 million of restaked ETH being channeled into Obol DVs is part of a broader strategy to maintain a secure, resilient, and decentralized staking environment, crucial for the long-term health and efficiency of blockchain technologies.
Restaking enables ETH validators to earn additional rewards by securing Actively Validated Services (AVSs). This infrastructure is crucial as it provides a more dynamic and secure environment for restaked capital, which in turn supports the AVSs. Adopting DVs as the infrastructural building block for the restaking ecosystem helps ensure that a Liquid Restaking Protocol’s (LRP) node operator set maintains the highest quality of restaked capital for AVSs.
Validation Cloud is proud to support Obol and EtherFi in this crucial step toward building a secure and decentralized foundation for the restaking ecosystem, promising a more resilient infrastructure for Ethereum validators.
