Validation Cloud is proud to support Espresso Systems as a node operator for the Espresso Network, a global confirmation layer and foundational piece of infrastructure that will help unify blockchain ecosystems.
What is the Espresso Network?
The Espresso Network provides fast transaction confirmations, and (optionally) decentralized sequencing and data availability, powered by a BFT consensus protocol (HotShot). In the future, Espresso will launch additional products and protocols on the Network to enhance cross-chain composability, such as the Espresso Marketplace, which will enable chains to sell sequencing rights to block builders, optimizing revenue and creating the conditions for using shared sequencing to improve interoperability.
Key Features of Espresso
- Fast confirmations: Espresso delivers credibly neutral, economically-secured confirmations, replacing the need for users, bridges, and beyond to depend on preconfirmations coming from centralized sequencers.
- Decentralized sequencing: Some chains use the Espresso Network as a decentralized sequencing layer, leveraging it to determine the order of transactions on the chain.
- Low-cost data availability: Any chain integrating with Espresso can also take advantage of Tiramisu, Espresso's data availability layer, to improve its scalability.
In the future, the Espresso Network and its fast confirmations will serve as the foundation for innovative features, such as a marketplace for coordinated block building that enables incentive-compatible shared sequencing and enhanced levels of cross-chain synchronous composability.

Validation Cloud is proud to be one of the 23 node operators supporting the mainnet launch of the Espresso Network. As an operator, Validation Cloud operates a node that helps confirm and order transactions in the Network. This includes managing consensus messages and providing data availability, contributing to the decentralization and security of the Espresso Network.
